A duke (male) or duchess (female) can either be a monarch ruling over a duchy or a member of the nobility, historically of highest rank below the monarch.
I know way too many dogs with this name, sorry. FWIW, my first name is apparently a dog name too. It's annoying to have people say "oh, that's my dog's name" when they meet you.
Not a fan, sorry. Brodie is NMS, but it's fine in the MN spot since it's a family name. I don't like Duke at all.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Thanks for all your input. Too bad there aren't many fans; but thats why I posted something to get opinions.
I didn't even think of the dog name reference...so that makes me think twice a little. Either way, I love the middle name of Brodie. What other first names would you suggest? I don't like common names, but I also don't like very unique names- somewhere in the middle.
I love Brodie but am not a huge fan of Duke (I think I would like it for a nickname). But if you and your husband both like it - well then by all means, name away!

What about Jude? Has a similar feel to Duke, for me at least.
This! I prefer Brodie as the first name, especially since it's a family name. I really like Hudson and I don't think Duke fits as well as Brodie with Hudson.

Re: Input on boy name
Sorry, I'm not into title names.

I wouldn't mind it as a nickname?

Not loving Duke as a first name, but think it could be a cool nickname.
Suggestion: what about something like Broderick Duke... gives you a full name with the nn option of Brodie or Duke. Just a thought!
Hell yeah. Love it.
If I hear about one more Liam, Aiden or Adam, I'm going to go crazy.

Me too!
I would actually prefer Brodie as a first name, especially if it's that vs. Duke. I like surnames as first names when they have family significance.
This. We had a Great Dane named Duke.
