Cybex Aton/ Maxi Cosi with City Mini

I have a city mini gt and just got a Cybex Aton car seat (is very similar and uses the same adapting system as Maxi Cosi). I read online that you don't use the metal bar of the car seat adapter when attaching the Cybex or MaxiCosi to the stroller. I tried it and it "clicks" in very strongly and doesn't move, but I am curious what others think about this? Do you have a Cybex or MaxiCosi with your City Mini? How does it attach? Thanks!

Re: Cybex Aton/ Maxi Cosi with City Mini

  • Are you concerned that its not safe? If so, don't be. I have a maxicosi seat and used it on a quinny stroller all the time. It attaches using the same plastic mounting pieces and I never felt that it was unsafe or not secure. For some of the infant seats that use the bar, you have to use the strap to secure it properly. Without the bar in the way it will be easier to use the stroller seat with the car seat adapters still attached too.

  • It is compatible (according to the BJ website) so it shouldn't be a problem.

  • Thanks! Safety is a concern, but only that I want to be attaching it correctly! If that is actually the correct way, then I actually prefer that it doesn't have the bar. Then I easily have the option to use the car seat or just the stroller (or the bassinet I got on Craig's list!).

in my opinion, the attachment for a maxi cosi or cybex for any stroller is better than all of the others bc it snaps in front the sides. it sounds like you did it exactly right.
