I am having a scheduled c-section and was wondering what you ladies packed in your hospital bags? Also, for those that had scheduled c-section, how many of you went early? i am scared that I will go early and not be prepared. Thanks for the advice!
*small camera bag with camera, my ID/health insurance, cell phones. This was all we brought in for the surgery.
After surgery my husband went and got-
*bag with my stuff (toiletries, pajamas, 1 outfit to go home in, slippers, kindle, phone chargers, camera chargers, snacks)
*bag with pillows (1 for me, 1 for DH), and 2 beach towels (towels at our hospital sucked!)
*small diaper bag for LO - going home outfit socks, mittens, etc.
For a C/S you really dont' need that much stuff. I went a bit overboard, but I wanted comforts from home since we were at the hospital for a long time. Pillows, towels, slippers, clothes are all just nice to have. I also hate hospital food, so I was thankful for some yummy snacks. I didn't use my Kindle, but otherwise everything I packed got used!
ETA: I was scheduled for 39w2d and didn't go early. Going early (at least for me?) wasn't that big of a deal - I would have just gone to the hospital and had the C-section when I went into labor.
Mine was not scheduled but here's what I used/needed:
Camera, cell phone with charger, Dh had my wallet, insurance card.
Boppy pillow for nursing, 3 or 4 nursing tanks, high waisted comfy pants, loose open tops to wear over nursing tanks, nursing cover. Some PJ's, sweatshirt and flip flops.
Toiletries- soap, face wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Going home outfit in 2 sizes- newborn and 0-3.

Like pp, I didn't need anything special. I had a list of things to grab last minute: makeup, glasses, a pair of yoga pants, camera/charger, phone charger, nook.
I had packed snacks, tanks, nursing bras, granny panties, a robe, socks, boppy, slippers, and an outfit for DS, a few baby blankets and baby hats. DH went home at night to shower and tend to the dogs and took the blanket/hat home with him for the dogs to smell.
DH hadn't packed yet but needed a few outfits, glasses, socks, boxers.
My water broke 5 days before my sch c/s in the middle of the night.
Bag 1- brought in right away the morning of surgery
cord blood collection kit
camera
wallet
cell phones
Bag 2- brought in once I was in my permanent room
chargers
pillows
blankets
towels
Make-up, hair dryer, shower stuff, etc.
yoga pants & nursing tank to change into (2 sets) socks
boppy
Bag 3- baby bag- brought in going home morning
going home outfit
blanket
I did not go into labor early with DS. I had most of my stuff packed around 37 weeks with a sticky note list of the last minute stuff on my bathroom mirror.
I was scheduled for my cs at 39w1d and went into labor at 39w. Of course, I wasn't even packed figuring I had the extra day, so I kinda threw everything in!
Toiletries
robe
comfy lounge pants/nursing tanks
cell phone/charger/camera
granny panties (i brought my own pads too)
babies coming home outfit and blankets
I really didn't end up taking too much, and what I needed DH was able to run home and grab for us, luckily we only live 5 mins from hospital! Good luck!
I didn't go early - so that wasn't an issue. My baby was a complete breech though - so this wasn't an issue for me because there was no head down to engage - I never went into labor (never even dilated or had a contraction other than BH).
Onto the hospital bag, I packed quite a bit but found I didn't need: underwear - I used the mesh underwear the entire time and I also didn't need pads - I used hospital pads the entire time and ended up switching brands to one of theirs after leaving the hospital. I had brought both. What I did use and also brought:
Yoga pants and pj pants - comfortable ones - maternity tank tops and nursing tops - sweatshirts or over shirts for putting over your tank tops - comfortable sports bra like nursing bras - toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brush, soap, deodorant, some make up, a comb, etc) - shoes to wear in the shower - an outfit for the baby to wear home - two of our own swaddles (velcro ones) - comfortable flip flops - my kindle - my cell phone - a charger - some snacks (fiber bars especially) - my vitamins (prenatal and fish oil) - I think that wraps it up...
Next time for #2 I would bring: my breast pump (my milk didn't come in right away and I didn't know how much I was feeding my daughter so she lost some weight at the end) and Colace (trust me, ask for some, or bring some).
Good luck...! You'll be fine.

I packed a bag for myself--My own pads (hate the hospital ones), slippers, a few pairs of comfy pants, tshirts and a robe. A book, phone charger and some hard candies.
A bag for baby- Sleepers, blankets, hats and mittens. Going home outfit and a stuffed animal that DD picked out for new baby.
I went 16 days early with my DD #2, who was a scheduled c-sect. I had her bag packed but not with me, my mom brought it to the hospital. My bag was in the car around 35 weeks, minus charger which is usually in my purse.

I did not go into labor early with DS. I had most of my stuff packed around 37 weeks with a sticky note list of the last minute stuff on my bathroom mirror.
This! I also brought my own granny panties and pads (don't like hospital ones), some facial wipes and mouthwash to freshen up before they let you out of bed, baby book and footprint kit (packed with cameras and asked nurses to take foot print), and TUMS! At my hospital, they don't have tums, just some weird liquid goop- DH had to run to the gift shop to get me some.
I didn't pack very much at all and there wasn't anything that I wished I had. My mom was the one who stayed with me so that DH could be with DS1, so she packed her own bag. I went into labor with DS2 a few days early and it wasn't a big deal. The bag was in the car and we went as soon as I went into labor. It was a little rough because they made me wait until morning before the c section (after stopping labor), but it wasn't horrible.

Our hospital says not to bring in your bags with you.
Before c/s:
wallet, camera, baby book, kids big brother/big sister bags to give them while they are waiting to see baby during surgery.
Bag daddy went to get when we get to recovery room we are staying in:
pillows, laptop, chargers, cash, boppy pillow, diaper wreath for room door baby's diaper bag
in bag:
coming home outfit for me, daddy's change of clothes for the stay, personal items such as make up, straightener, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, brush.
I wear the the hospitals pads and undies (I don't want to ruin my own) and I never leave my room (if baby goes to nursery for testing or pedi check daddy goes with baby).
Diaper bag:
extra outfit, we throw hospital diaper and wipes in before we leave hospital, extra blanket.
We have over an hour drive home so we make sure we are set for whatever may arise on the way home.

Thank you ALL for all of your suggestions! I have my list started! I really like the idea of having two separate bags. Thanks again!!
