Thursday morning my 2 1/2 yo DD came down with the flu. Day 1 was vomiting. Friday I came down with the flu vomiting/diarrhea. DD was nolonger vomiting but had diarrhea. Saturday, I was fine, just weak and recovering, DD still had persistent diarrhea. It's now her 3rd day of diarrhea (very watery). She is drinking water willingly, but absolutly refuses to drink any pedialite (tried 3 diff flavors) and won't eat the pedialite popcicles either. The only food She will eat is nibbling on crackers/dry cheerios. Refuses everything else. She doesn't have a fever and seems okay other than being fussy/cranky, but I am concerned about dehydration. Her Pedi's office is not available on the weekend, we would have to take her to urgent care where I am sure they would only put her on an I.V.
If she is drinking a lot of water is that enough? I am open to suggestions, TIA!
Re: 2.5 yo has the flu
Oh no, that sucks! I am so sorry for both of you!
I would think as long as she's producing wet (pee, that is) diapers that she's good. Our pedi says that they can go days without eating, but it's the liquid they're most concerned about. She sounds like she's doing great with water!
If she became lethargic, then I'd start to worry.
GL and I hope everyone is 100% soon!

as long as she doesn't have a fever and is continuing to drink (and wet diapers) then I wouldn't worry
dd had that a few weeks ago, and didn't go back to completely normal eating for nearly a week. The only drink I could get her to take was water and water with a tiny bit of juice in it to flavor it, and she only ate crackers & pasta for a couple of days
I'd just give her anything she'll eat for a few days, they actually recommend that you get your LO back to 'normal' eating as quickly as possible as that helps them to recover quicker to have a variety of nutrients
