DTD

So I know it's being discussed on other boards... but nothing goes on here lately (everyone too busy with birthday parties of course)... so what do you think about DTD while cosleeping with baby in bed? This link is the inspiration...  about halfway down

Re: DTD

  • I saw that one.  All I have to say is ewww.  Now, DH and I have had sex when DS was in the same room asleep during our cruise and in hotel rooms, but more often than not, we would move the crib to the bathroom or as far from the crib as possible.  DS woke up during sex once, and I had to stop right there.  I can't even have the monitor on because any noise that he might make kills the mood for me.  I can't imagine having sex while DS was fussing himself to sleep.

  • I haven't read the link, but I could never ever do it. I can't even get in the mood if I hear her talking in her room.

This and eww! I think that's a line that should not be crossed. And for older kids (say 3 and up who could possibily remember seeing something), I would personally feel like it's abuse if they happen to see the whole thing going on with their parents and the parents are too selfish/self absorbed to stop what their doing to remove the child from the situation. Just ewww!

I could be wrong.. but I am pretty sure someone on TB was reported to CPS for some similar behavior..... I'll do some looking

  • It is hard enough getting in the mood with DD down the hall, sleeping soundly in her crib. In bed with you? Disgusting.

  • Wow that is disturbing.  I love how people jump into the womans defense saying she's not the only one out there to have done this.  Just because she's probably not the only one, doesn't make it right!  I'm sorry if you're really that much in the mood to DTD atleast go to the couch or even the floor!

Depends on how her state's law is written, but yes this can absolutely qualify as abuse. The period of time when a baby is completely unaware, ie newborn, is extremely short. People who do this are normalizing unhealthy sexual behavior. Not good. Trust me, I'm not a pearl clutcher. But this is beyond messed up, possibly illegal, and also just gross!

    This. That shiz is nasty.

  • While I think it's discusting, I also would worry her baby would roll over... either towards them or onto the floor. I agree with a PP, why not go to the couch or the floor? Seriously, common sense people... which unfortunately many lack!
