Hello all! I am new to the website and my husband and I are TTC. I went off my Birth control pills at the beginning of October 2012 and I am trying to figure out how long I should wait before taking a pregnancy test. I have been on birth control fro 10 years and when I started I did not have regular periods, so I have no idea when I'll get my first period after getting off. I have also had really bad nipple tenderness the past few days and its making me wonder if I am pregnant, getting pms before my first period off my BC, or if it just my body adjusting to new hormone levels. I really don't want to take a test and get a false negative but I would also love to learn if I am pregnant now. Any advice anyone could give would be great as it is our first time TTC and I am really excited but could use tips from anyone who has been where I have before. Thanks
Re: How soon should I take a pregnancy test after going off birth control
Take a test. If it's positive, you'll know. If it's not, take one every few days until you get your period.
I would have waited for one post-BC period to TTC, but that's just me

All ALers welcome!
I feel like you were reading my mind with the post. I think we are in the same boat. I also came off BC at the beginning of October and seem to be having the same symptoms as you. I'm going to wait at least another week or two and see what happens before I think about taking a test
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. It's good to know someone else is in the same situation. I am also trying to wait a little while before testing (the cheap person in me doesn't want to waste a pregnancy test) but its definitely hard not to think about it.
Good luck to you too!
