Newborn photos - what will baby wear?

For those planning to have newborn photos professional taken, do you already have some outfits planned for baby? Bonus points if you can share photos.

We plan to have photos taken but I feel like I've I'm going to order a cute hat, outfit, etc I better get on it now since newborn photos are generally taken pretty quickly once baby is born.

I don't have an "outfit" per say, but I have a couple ideas for what I want her wearing. I bought a cute beanie type hat with an attached flower, and also a flower headband from Etsy. I also plan to buy a ruffle diaper cover from RuffleButts to wear with a pair of Babylegs. That's all I have planned. I don't know if I want to get a dress or real outfit for the photos.

I am crocheting a few hats with matching diaper covers... I am not doing any outfits unless there is something I get as a gift seems to be fitting for the photos. Their 3 month photos need some outfit planning though...

Nothing!

I typically photograph newborns in just their own skin. My photog does the same. Occasionally she'll do some swaddled with different fabrics, but she'll bring those. And she has TONS of hats and such. Here is a link to her blog with newborn posts.

I've bought a few things but they're mostly "prop pieces" that I wanted specifically. Our photographer has lots and lots of things for newborn photos but I wanted to make sure that we had a few that matched the nursery so that they would match when hanging up in there. So far I've purchased from Etsy an aqua crochet hat with hot pink flower, an aqua cheesecloth to swaddle her in, a bubblegum pink headband with bow and a couple pairs of ruffled bloomers. I am planning on having another hat knitted along with matching newborn leg warmers.

Not yet. I'd like to have the boys in matching sweaters/hats. I'll probably buy that after Christmas when everything's on sale.

A few in the going home outfit... A few with nothing but a diaper... And a few with nothing but a diaper and the blanket crocheted by baby's great-grandma.

As for props... nursery rhyme blanket from the nursery and a few hand painted snowflakes...

My friend's husband is a photographer and he is spending a day with us to photograph baby in the moment. So we will not have a time limit and will be able to get some great in-the-moment shots!

I took newborn shots of my best friend's twin boys earlier this year (check them out here) and I had them completely nekkid except for some strategically-placed cheesecloth that I dyed blue ;-) I'll probably do the same for my own baby, and maybe dye some cheesecloths pink or purple in case we have a girl.

I'm decorating the nursery with a fox theme, so I'm thinking of crocheting an orange hat with fox ears and a matching diaper cover with a fox tail to use as props, but we'll see.

My photog provides hats and blankets to swaddle in. Pics will mostly be naked (snoozing on belly) or swaddled. I got outfits from gap for all 4 of us for a few shots together though - red cable knit one piece romper for the baby, red cords and a cream sweater for Henry, Red plaid for DH and cream v neck sweater for me.

I agree baby will probably be naked a majority of the time but I guess I was thinking about some props and other items that people might use with baby. I've seen some great inspiration pictures on Pinterest and wondered if anyone planned props to have baby with.

This - the photos you will cherish in 20 years will be the classic ones where baby isn't wearing any silly hat or ruffly diaper cover.

Probably nothing. We will just use some different blankets and possibly some crocheted slippers and a headband I got her from an etsy shop. I think NB pics in the nude are adorable!
