Toddler is yanking my hair

It's gotten past the point of just pulling my hair, to the point that she is yanking so hard it's causing intense pain.  We've tried time outs, apologies, and walking away from her, but the behavior is continuing.  Any suggestions?

    Both of my kids did this. But only once. Next time it happens, say "OUCH" and pull their hair and say "pulling hair hurts". It sounds cruel but you need to make sure they understand that its the pulling on the hair that is what hurts and they need to experience it themselves. Worked on mine. Good luck.

    I'm tuning in eagerly....my 29 month old recently started doing this again to me when he's mad. I get so upset with him, when he does it (which I'm sure is the reaction he is looking for). We've tried timeouts, walking away, and ignoring. I'm thinking it might just be one of those phases. Sorry - no advice but I wanted to emphathize!

    I'm trying not to react, but I'm so overly hormonal right now it's making it so difficult.  I hope it is just a phase, a very short short phase.

    My son is like a mad Vidal Sasson stylist.  He once took a comb and tangled my hair in the comb.  It took 10 minutes for me to get it out.  I guess he was trying to get my attention. 

    Are our kids to 4 years old yet?
