I need a judgment or just complaint post

My SD has her Peter Pan play this weekend, where she is starring at Wendy. We went last night, and she did great! It's a small community theater here in our area; nothing spectacular, but I kind of expected more of our friends to attend. I judge my friends for not spending the 10 it took to make her evening. I asked one of my friends if she would come since she has a 5 year old. I thought they would both enjoy it. She didn't want to spend the to take her son not knowing of he would sit through it and wouldn't have a sitter. I understand that, but then I see she's out this weekend. If you have to go out, you could have taken your son or could have just been honest with me.

  • I have a pitch fork, Shall we go hunting?

People are selfish, even people who you would normally expect not to be can be complete buttheads.

It is great that she had a good show and the important part is you were there :)

  • People are azzholes. I am glad she had a good time, though.

  • I'm sorry that happened to you. My guess is that most people are just overextended and its hard to fit everything in, in your own life and spend time with your extended family. That's kind of where I am right now. I don't necessarily see that as selfish.

All I can say is that I've learned, time and time again, not to expect much from people. Sorry. But in glad she ha a great show and I'm sure she had a great time performing regardless.

This! I'm sorry no one came, but amazing that it was a good show!

I see what you're saying, and I can admit I'm a little overly sensitive right now.  I tend to become more sensitive with holidays coming since losing my mom.  My friends and I are really close, and we usually make it to these type of events.
