Babies: 3 - 6 Months

drool, drool, drool...no teeth

This chick drools like a running faucet and totally acts like she's teething, but it's been going on for a few weeks and still no teeth! How long does it take for them to start popping in? I can't even remember from my first daughter. TIA!

Re: drool, drool, drool...no teeth

  • My son is the same way. I heard they can have symptoms several months before a tooth ever pops out.

  • I joke that my LO drools like a freaking st. bernard!  And has been for about a month now and still no teeth!  We just do a lot of bib changes throughout the day!
  • I read it can be awhile - even a couple months.

  • DD started drooling like crazy at 3mo.  She got her first two teeth three days apart, at 6mo.  She hasn't gotten any more teeth yet.

  • I am just trying to keep her mouth area dry and put a little vaseline on it to prevent that rash...poor girl!
  • It has to do with their salivary glands developing. DD1 was drooling for a few starting around 3 mos months and then it slowed down but she didn't cut a tooth until 11 mos.

  • Same with DD. She drools a ton and constantly rubs her gums with her fist, but they're still really white and show no signs of letting out the teeth anytime soon!

  • Kids have peek drooling from 3-6 months even if they aren't teething.  With DS, we had to keep a bib on him at all times because the drool was so bad.  He didn't have any teeth until 9 months.  Now with DD, she's four months and drooling like mad.  I'm hoping her teeth don't come in for a while either.
