Just had my "surprise" sprinkle :)

I put "surprise" in quotes, because I found out about it a good week and half ago, but didn't let my sister & BF know I knew. 

DH, the girls, & I headed out to shop at IKEA while they came to set up and surprise me. It was so sweet and fabulous. It was only a few close friends, my two grandmothers, my mom, sister, & MIL. They purchased a few things I had asked (ergo, rock & play sleeper, Christmas outfit, and an adorable reindeer hat) plus some gift cards to BRU. DH had ordered the food & cakes from two local favorite spots, and we just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. DH had the two girls & my BF's two kids w/her H up in our playroom. 

Honestly, it was exactly what I needed.

I don't know if because this is kid #3, and I'm so wrapped up in all the stuff w/the girls, but I feel kind of guilty. This pregnancy has been relatively uneventful, and I'm so absorbed in my other two, between school, playdates, etc... that I haven't really taken this in, so to speak. 

Today made me feel so blessed, (Corny I know) to have so many good friends & family, and to be able to have another little one!

I hope everyone else has as good of a shower or sprinkle as I had :)

    Glad you had a good time!

    I know exactly what you mean about not fully taking in this pregnancy. When I was pregnant with DD I felt like my whole life was about pregnancy. I could tell you at any given moment what was going on with baby's size and development. I read 3 different pregnancy books and focused everything on getting ready for baby.

    This time around I pretty much forget that I'm pregnant. I'm so wrapped up with DD that I don't have the time or energy to read all the books and all that. I still don't think it's really hit me that I'll have another baby in less than 7 weeks.

    I fail to see how that feeling is corny at all! Sounds more along the lines of special and kind and sweet! I'm glad you had a time to get to feel special, not only for you, but for this baby as well. :)

    I found out about my "surprise sprinkle" too but I put a stop to the whole thing I really didn't want it. So instead a few girlfriends are getting together for lunch. Totally nice to do something low key to celebrate the new baby.
