breech! so far..

Hi ladies,

Happy saturday to all of you ! went to my 33 week appointment and apparently our little girl is head up and butt down. Before that she was head down and ready to go . Curious if any STM's had any experience with this and had their little one turn after 33 weeks?

I am working on doing some exercises from spinning babies but still cannot seem to get her to move. She is pretty comfortable there..

 Thanks!!!

  • I'm a FTM but I love reading birth stories and have read about babies turning (either way) up to weeks 36-37...GL to you!

  • I'm wondering if my DD didn't just turn herself around too.  I have been feeling her up high on the right and now she's low on the left.

My DS was head down, though, so I'm not sure.  I'm hoping she gets back going the right way or that I'm wrong about her position.

  • Is your doctor concerned? My doctor said they don't start to care until about 35 or 36 weeks because that is when it starts to be unlikely that the baby will change positions. She definitely still has room to flip so there is time for her to do it on her own.

  • My baby girl has been breech since 20 weeks. :(

  • My OB said they don't worry about it until 36-38 weeks, but if you are concerned, there are lots of exercises you can do to turn baby around.  Check out spinningbabies.com, and if you are comfortable seeing a chiropractor, that can help as well.

  • DS was head down from 30 weeks on. I feel like this time baby isn't head down. I go for my 36 week apt on Wednesday and I'll get checked at that point. If they can't feel baby's head they said I'll go for an u/s and go from there. They will give baby up to 38 weeks to turn before looking at other options.

My nephew was breech until 38 weeks and did the last minute turn, so I'm hoping that either my 'feeling' of how baby is laying is wrong, or she does the last minute flip as well.  GL!

  • Our daughter was breech up til week 36 and then flipped on her own.  I have heard awesome things about spinning babies.  Also, for STMs+ my OB will flip (or try to flip) the baby.  So make sure you explore your options if need be.  I have heard stories of STM's being breech til delivery and then the baby flipping so hang in there!!!!!

  • I'm a FTM but my LO was head down at my 32 week appt, breech at my 34 week appointment and then at my 36 week appt the other day it was back to head down. I'm hoping s/he stays put! Just thought I'd put that out there that sometimes they just need a little more time to find that comfy position. Good luck!
  • My LO was transverse for a while, went head down at week 32 or so, and is currently breech. I'm hoping she will move again!

  • No advice to give other than to say that I'm in the same boat!  Mine is breech too.

This exactly.  My first babe was head down the entire pregnancy, this baby has been bottom down since I've been able to feel her position.  The Ob told me not to worry until later on- that it is very highly likely she'll move on her own before 36-37 weeks.  The midwife told me the same but did recommend things like spinningbabies.com and I just saw a chiropractor for the first time last week.

  • I'm honestly not sure what position this baby is in, but with DD she moved from the correct position to a breech position at 39 weeks. DH and I actually watched her flip in my belly one night. So it can happen late!
