XP: from PAIF
cold turkey....
Did you have any side effects. RE mentioned to me that I could stop immedately (no one last night) and woke up this morning will dull cramps already.
Is this normal? I know if I start to spot I need to tell them and I may need to go back on but is this just my body adjusting to a lower P4 in my system???

I stopped at 10 wks but my Dr. told me I could stop at 8. I was going to wean at 10 wks but after 2 days of that I just really felt like I didn't need them anymore.
I've had cramping on and off for the entire 14weeks, which is normal so maybe it's just a coincindence your cramping now. You can always call your OB for a quickie P4 check if your concerned.

I mostly lurk, but I remember how panicked I was when I was facing this situation so I thought I'd throw in my experience and hope it helps to calm/soothe you.
I was told I could stop at 8 weeks, but I didn't. Then I was told I could stop at 10. I stopped at 11 weeks, cold turkey. No immediate side effects, but I did have some pretty substantial cramping (no bleeding) all the way through about 16 weeks.
From what I gleaned from reading these boards and talking to my midwife, the suppositories don't create a constantly higher level of progesterone in your bloodstream, they give you more of a bolus dose every 12 hours (or whatever interval you're taking them). So your P level is either high enough on its own to support the pregnancy (which it definitely should be by 10-12 weeks) or its not. "Weaning" off of these is more about mental comfort than anything physical. Again, this is from what I read and discussed with my MW, I am NOT a professional.
As always, call your RE if you have any concerns, that's what they're there for and they definitely charge enough for you to feel comfortable taking advantage of that! But in general if the cramping isn't accompanied by substantial bleeding, its most likely normal.
Good luck!
