My DD usually eats one stage 2 food at breakfast and at lunch with 10-15 cheerios. ?At dinner, I give her 1 1/2 stage 2 food and 10-15 puffs. ?I recently have given her some pcs. of bagel in the morning and have tried some shredded chz at dinner. ?How much do you feed your DC?
Re: How much is your 8-9 month old eating?
we tried lunch around 7.5 months, but he would get too full and spit it up. so i have cut out lunch until probably the 9 month mark at the new year. he's doing fine without it, but i'll follow he lead of course.
bottles of 6oz at 7-11:30-3-7...sometimes the 3pm bottle is only 4oz
breakfast- 1 stage 2 fruit OR 1/2 yogurt and 1 tbsp cereal ...cherrios ala carte!
dinner- 1 stage 2 veggie OR 2-3 cubes veggie + cherrios and we're adding in other table foods (last night he had whole wheat pasta)
snack- after the 3pm bottle i give him a few puffs ?
I put some puffs or cheerios on his tray in the morning and at any meal he's awake to join me/us for (he's sometimes napping when I eat lunch and sometimes goes to sleep before we have dinner). I give him a little of whatever we have around - last night he had some mango that I kind of ran through my teeth and gave him little mushes of. I got him some mango cheeks last week and we're going to get more (they're dried mango strips) because he enjoyed chewing on them.
He is still working on getting the puffs and cheerios into his mouth reliably, so he doesn't eat that many, but he sure does like picking them up and investigating them!
He's a pretty big guy (about 23lbs, I'd guess), but he's still not very into solids and he's growing just fine still almost exclusively BFed.
Hmm...less than most of you it seems. He's not all that into purees. We offer cereal and a stage 2 jar of veggies at dinner, but he is often not interested. Then we move on to fruit and he can eat a jar or more of that.
I offer puffs or cheerios throughout the day, too, and sometimes fruit in the mesh feeder.
I make most of his food so his schedule is in oz.
6:15- 4oz bottle
6:30- 4oz applesauce or yogurt and some puffs
9:30- 7oz bottle
12- 7oz bottle
1- 3oz veggie or fruit
3:30- 7oz bottle
5:30- 6-8oz veggie, 2 tablespoons cereal, puffs
8- 4oz bottle
