Pageants.. WDYT?

Last night was a local elementary schools pageant. Moms were blowing up Facebook with pictures which was great UNTIL- a mom posted one of her child. This girl has been on Toddlers & Tiaras and is very active in the glitz pageants around the country. Well, she won. On one hand, I don't think it's fair she not only got to participate but that she won. Imagine being 8, 9 or 10 years old and seeing her in the pageant. All confidence would be gone. On the other hand, it also wouldn't be fair to not allow her to participate just because she does pageants "for a living" Lol! Any thoughts...?

    Sorry, you lost me at "pageants". Stick out tongue

    I think they are ridiculous and can't get behind what they promote.  My daughter will not participate in an antiquated exercise in showboating her assets. So in my case the expertise of the other contestants wouldn't even factor in.
