This is kind of an AW, but we just got our BOB Ironman (early Christmas gift!) and I went on my first jog with DD and the dog yesterday. It went really well, but man - what an upper body workout!!
Any other runners out there? How are you doing now that your LO is here? Do you have a jogging stroller? Do you run in races or just for fun?

Re: Any other running Moms?
I'm a tredmill runner...I SUCK at running outdoors and I am in awe of anyone who can! Pre-pregnancy I was able to run up to 5 miles at a time on the tredmill, and DH and I ran a 5K. I would love to be able to do half marathon or something....someday.
Back at the gym now and I'm only able to run about 2 miles before I have to stop because I had major knee pain (probably from uhhhh weight gain) during and after my pregnancy. My joints are starting to re-hab!

What just happened in my diaper?!
I stupidly allowed my mom to sign me up for a 10K next August. She did it the last two years, and all of my family decided to do it with her this year.
I cant even get my a$$ up off the couch to do a 20 minute workout video. I have never really ran on the treadmill, I'm more of an elliptical person. I dont know what I'm going to do or where to start.
Any advice?

When I first started running I used Couch to 5k. It really helped me with an easy plan to build up the distance.
Now I love doing half marathons and I even did one when I was pregnant. I was getting excited to use my BOB without the car seat in the next couple of months, but I just had back surgery on Monday, so I won't be a running mom anytime soon. :
We put her in the stroller itself but we use lots of padding to keep her snug. We use rolled up blankets on the sides and a head support thing for her head. I also have it reclined just slightly so she isn't sitting straight up. I have read rave reviews for the Snuzzler, and was going to buy one if but I didn't think we needed it after trying without it. If your LO is on the smaller side it might work good for you though.

The way I see it, if LO is moving around as much as or less than they do in the car, you're good to go. Plus the BOB is such a smooth ride, they don't jostle around a ton.
Ditto on the couch to 5k plan - or really any plan that eases you into running. You start with lots of walks and short bits of running (plus cross training like your elliptical) and you gradually increase the runs. It's rarely more than 20 - 30 minutes a day with a day or two of rest per week. GL!
