Working moms...Do you let baby sleep in on weekends?

Hey everyone...This was my first week back to work, and I have been getting my LO up at 6:30 so we can be out the door by 7. She is obviously still tired. She has been a night owl since birth, and have just now, with the earlier wake-up, been getting her to go to bed before 10:30....usually 9:30, 9:45 now!

So, for you moms that work, do you let baby sleep in on the weekends? I obviously dont want to get up at 6:30 if I dont have too...but I dont want to mess up the progress we made on getting her to go bed bed earlier.

Thoughts?

  • First of all - what a gorgeous baby! Secondly, we definitely let him sleep in on the weekends. Usually we have to wake him up at 6:30 so I can nurse him just before I go to work. Then with the sitter, about an hour later, he takes a 30 min-1 hour long nap. On weekends, he sleeps an extra hour later, but doesn't take the early morning nap. The rest of his day stays the same as weekdays...so far it's working out just fine, and we get a little quiet time with our coffee on the couch Sat and Sun mornings - it's great! ;o)

  • Yep, but we don't have a set wake up time on weekdays either. He usually wakes around 7 or so on his own no matter what day it is. I consider waking him for any reason to be a cardinal sin.

  • definately....I let her wake up on her own on the weekends.  She may sleep another hour than she does on the weekdays, but I will take it.
