Darby Cate

We keep going back and forth on loving this name and then questioning if people will think it's a boy's name, made up name, etc...

First impression, what do you think?

I've only heard of one Darby IRL, and it is a little boy. Not a huge fan, but if you love it, then go for it!

The only Darby I've ever heard of would be my daughter's "Darbie's" (aka Barbies.)

Maybe I'm just tired, but I read that as Darby Cafe.

Cate is fine, but Darby falls into the random surname turned FN category for me. Not very pretty, sorry.

I can't say I honestly care for Darby. I am naming my daughter, Gracie Adelle. Not everyone likes Gracie either, some say it is to "childish" but honestly if you like the name then you should go with it. It is unique.

I just think Darby is so clunky and masculine for a girl. Cate is ok, but I like it better with a K and as a nn to Katherine. You could even switch them and do Katherine (nn Kate) Darby if you're still liking the name. It's better, although I'm still not a fan of Darby.
