How do your kids do in the car?
we have a 2 yr 1 month old- we walk with her or take her in her stroller everywhere since we live in the city- with that being said we do drive to places like target, ikea, etc (which are like 5 minute car rides).
Now when we go see family or friends thats about an hour ride- and its not that often.
So for those longer car rides- its a nightmare- she hates them- she also gets car sick too and you never know when she is going to blow! I have tried everything to help with the car sickness but what can I do to help with ride itself? I dont think she likes being strapped in and then the sickness- its SOO stressful and I am on pins and needles everytime we go for a longer ride! I have the "barf" bag in the car and always at least 2 pairs of clothes. And then once she barfs- and you pull over and clean it up- its a total freak out trying to get her back into her seat.
I made CD's with all her music she likes but sometimes for whatever reason she doesnt want that song on at that moment she starts to flip out and I am like here we go! And if there is no music on- after a while she will get upset. My husband sits in the back with her too so she isnt alone back there- UGH!
Like I said we dont go often but we have to go to family and friends houses sometimes so its not like I can avoid those long car rides!
Re: city moms- do you have car issues?
My girls are so used to the car, they've learned to entertain themselves. We drive 3-6 hours to see family very often and have a stock pile of car friendly toys. Books, music, MagnaDoodles, magnetic paper dolls, lacing cards, Color Wonder markers and coloring books, alphabet/shape/number flashcards, and special snacks keep them distracted so they don't complain too much about being contained in the seats.
We don't have car sickness problems, but I wonder if something like sea bands would help your LO? I've heard they are effective for motion sickness.

I dont live in the city, w live int he country so we drive everywhere but our neighbors house lol.
Maybe you should try putting her in the car and driving more, so she can get more used to it. Also agree with PP about seabands i get car sick and they help me.
