gifts besides toys clothes?your LO besides toys and clothes for Christmas and first birthday? We are fortunate to have so many toys and clothes from LO's cousins. I'm wondering if there's any keepsake or practical gifts especially since LO won't know the difference anyway lol.

    Baby Einstein type DVDs or CDs for the car?  I like Jewel's lullaby CD and one by Rain for Roots.  Kid music that isn't annoying.  Do you have a girl or a boy?  I was thinking about getting DD a charm bracelet that I could add a charm to every year.

    what about a nice toy box? Im sure there's somewhere local where you could get it custom painted with LOs name or something like that. 

    Or a photo collage of first yr pics?

    My Mom came up with the toy box idea and I thought it was a great idea.  Also how about books?  My son loves to look at books on his own.  My Mom also got him a personalized plate with his name on it.  I know its too early for him to eat off a plate but its a cute gift.

    I got DD a personalized board book with pictures of our family.  I got it on pint size creations . com and it just came today.  It's really awesome because she loves seeing pictures of people, especially babies, and she can get to know her cousins.  I'm really excited for her to get it.

    We are getting her a couple nice, hardcover books and a potty chair.  A membership to a museum or zoo would be fun too.  Or money in a college fund.
    Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

    We are getting DD a Little People nativity set for her bday next week. Her Gram is giving her a Toddler size bundleme for the 1-1/2mi walk we take each day (to bring DS to school).  My parents are giving her a dollhouse bookshelf for her room (my dad is making it himself), but Pottery Barn kids has one that looks like it.

    I'm also doing bath toys since DS's toys look kind of gross after so many years of use.  I also will put practical things like baby shampoo and lotions in DD's stocking to make it look fuller.

    Books

    Shoes and socks

    Storage type furniture for their toys (I'm thinking of purchasing a kid sized table and chairs for our living room for DS to play at.)

    Passes to kid places like the zoo, children's museums, etc.

    Mommy and Me classes (swimming, gymboree, etc.) 

    Big kid eating utensils, plates and cups with monogramming or without 

    Personalized blankets, loveys, etc. 

    We did a first birthday photo shoot as a gift as well since those can be pretty expensive. 

    Money into a savings account for college (can be done every year).
