"Fang" teeth

Not sure their appropriate name. Has anyone had issues with their LO while these were coming through? Bay doesn't have a fever and she doesn't seem sick, yet the last 3 times I have given her milk she has thrown it up and it looks curdled. My mom and MIL swear it is her teeth. They call them "stomach" teeth. They said its normal. Anyone with experience? Any ideas ladies?

Re: "Fang" teeth

  • Thanks for your input. The milk looking curdled definitely was concerning to me. I'm glad that's normal. Well I am hoping that she gets through this pretty quickly.

  • Her upset stomach is likely caused by the excessive amounts of saliva she is swallowing. Teething increases saliva production and that can cause tummy issues. Our doc recommended rubbing vanilla extract on DS's gums. The alcohol will heat and help sooth the pain and the vanilla will help settle the stomach.

  • DDs are coming in and it has been a nightmare. We had no trouble with other teeth.  She had diarrhea for about 5 days that caused a nasty diaper rash.  She also got a cold right after.  One broke through the other day and she's much happier but the others are close.
  • DD's canine teeth just came in and they were really hard on her too. We didn't have the stomach issues but she was in a lot of pain.  It makes sense when you think about how sharp they are -- those have to hurt coming through!  Hope your LO is feeling better soon.

  • Oy. Stupid fangs! J has never had an issue with teething. All of his molars came in and he was barely cranky. When his fangs started coming in he was waking up all night and a mess during the day. My MIL said these are the hardest teeth for them pain-wise. Poor babes.
  • I can see the shadow of her canines when I brush her teeth. She's also started back up with the drooling and is chewing on her fingers again. Last night, she woke up at 2 am and she was up off and on for 2 hours. It was rough. We haven't had a night like that in a really long time. I'm hoping that it's teething and will be over soon.

  • Ugh.  C is getting her canine's right now and it is effing awful.  She has been a bear and has also thrown up and had diarrhea.  I don't know if it's from the teeth for from daycare but she has been awful the last 2 weeks.
