the pumpkins?? We have tons from our trip to the pumpkin patch, then the school field trips to the pumpkin patch, their Nature class teacher sent them home with pumpkins. ALOT. To the trash? Wish I had compost.
And the costumes- do you put them with your dress up stuff? My littlest refused to wear her new costume yesterday when she discovered her costume from last year in the dress up bin- grr!
Re: So now it's over. What to do with all...
Any pumpkins that we didn't cut we use as Thanksgiving decor. Any that we made in to jack-o-lanterns get pitched. We don't have a nearby woods or I would throw them in it.
Costumes get put in dress up box or sold on Craigslist.
We are going to wash off the marker with water. (DS drew on it with crayola markers for Halloween). Cut up the pumpkin and cook the pumpkin in the crockpot. We will freeze the pumpkin for later when I make pumpkin bread for the holidays.
The costumes I am not sure what to do with them. I put them away as a keepsake. Who knows maybe I will have another baby that can wear those costumes.
The costumes are getting saved... I guess to be passed along next year.
Here is a fun activity with the pumpkins before you ditch them.... let your kids drill holes into them! We did this (with a lot of help to start) and DS LOVED it. It was way more fun and hands on than carving. He made tons of holes. If you make small holes you can then put in Mr. Potato Head pieces.
Then we will compost them
