Giving cding another shot

Back when DS as a month old we had leaking issues with our 7th gen and natural babycare diapers, so I tried BGs 3.0. Well he leaked out of those as well, so I moved on shamefully slapped some huggies on his rear and whistfuly still gazed upon the cute fluffiness of cd websites. Well, I never got around to selling my BGs on diaperswappers, so instead of just having them sit in ds's basket I decided to give it a try again, and I'm so glad I did. He has not leaked once and he looks so cute! He has chunked up quite a bit (he is 17lbs now) and so far so good. We are still doing huggies at night (our biggest leaking time) but I feel so much better to know at least I'm cutting down on my waste by half. Now I just have to avoid telling my mom so I don't have to hear her mouth about the negatives of cding. Just hoping to provide some inspiration to those who may have not had to work for them, but would like to give it another try.

  • That's fantastic.  From what I hear, CDing a newborn is a special kind of challenge.  Nice job, mama!

  • Great post! That's so fantastic to hear:) I know I've heard a lot that the BGs just really don't work well on newborns, so clearly you can be a testament to that!  Good luck with your mom - I'd probably not even say anything to her until she notices;-)

  • Way to go!! I had leaking issues with the bg's at first too. I think because DD was just too small for them (even though they say techinically they'll fit). Once she got a little bigger they worked really well for us.
