pee cups need funnels

Well, it is that time in my pregnancy again where I can't see what I am doing down there and I have to pee in a small cup at my appointment. What a joke! I am pretty sure I get more on my hands than anywhere else. Anyone else discover this wonderfulness?

I thought I was the only one. I can't get it in the cup for the life of me without getting it all over my hands... Last week the toilet paper dispenser was empty. So there I am with pee all over my hands, running down the sides of the cup, dripping from me and NO TOILET PAPER! I was so mad!

Glad I'm not the only one. No matter how hard I try it's always a mess. There really should be a better system for urine collection.

No kidding. My OB doesn't even use real pee cups. They use the teeny, tiny 4 oz clear plastic cups.

I am now glad that I get to pee in my cups at home. Originally I thought it was a hassle since I was doing a lot of afternoon appointments but they wanted FMU so I had to put it in the fridge. At this point though, I have one more afternoon appointment (u/s and I want W there for it) and I will try to make the rest morning appointments! I'm glad that I'm able to be comfortable in my own bathroom while peeing all over myself! Stick out tongue

That way I can take a shower afterwards and not feel so gross. It doesn't matter if I wash my hands I still feel gross until I take a shower.

I HATE peeing in a cup and then right after that they want to take my blood pressure. I've got to the point where I told them to please wait until the end of my appointment to take it.

I don't have this problem. I put the cup right up to my crotch in the right location, let some go, stop, put the cup aside, and finish. No drip drops anywhere.

This was exactly my problem today! I tried to pee and it was like the pee stream was wanting to follow my body instead of go out and into the cup. I got maybe a cm in the bottom of the cup. My hands were soaked and so was the outside of the cup.

I also tried what pp said about just putting the cup up against me and that seems to make it worse. Somehow the pee decides to follow my body and then go down the outside of the cup and I don't realize it until my pee is all gone and I have nothing to show for it. I think we should get those cool pee trays that they give us when we are in labor that sit inside of the toilet to collect our urine. No hassle and no use of hands needed!

I also do it at home... When I remember to do it in the morning! The pee urge is so strong in the morning I forget all the time.

Haha, yes! My dr's office uses the little bathroom cups too, you'd think they'd rather spend the extra on something easier because I just hand it to the nurse and I know she must know that Ive peed all over the cup. I try my best to wipe off the outside for her, but still.

I had issues with peeing in the cup when I first started seeing my RE I guess it's good I wasn't a guy!. But after so many visits where pee was needed, I got better at it.
We'll see how it goes towards the end of this pg when it's harder to see down there.

I am not sure if this was the same for everyone but when I was at the hospital in labor with DS they had these trays that sat inside of the toilet and when you pee it catches the pee but it doesn't sit back far enough to catch poo. DH was able to pee around it but it always caught my pee quite nicely. It also caught my mucus plug which gave me an awesome visual of just how nasty it is!

The directions on the wall in the bathroom in my OBs office say to collect after the stream starts and before it ends. Thus, pee hands.

I dont even get to pee in a cup. I have to try to pee on a little stick, that is only a couple centimetres wide and a couple inches long. I miss regularly.

Can I also gripe that at my ob's office, there is nowhere to set the pee-filled cup except the floor until you are done...it just irks me, I put a paper towel down to set it on but I'm afraid I'll kick it over or something...
