I bought a pair of pants there a little over a month ago.... 11 days past their 30 day return policy, and they are coming apart right next to the crotch seam. I washed them once and wore them twice. I called and the manager acted like it's perfectly normal for a pair of pants to come apart in the wash. She acted like she was doubg me a HUGE favor and offered to exchange them for something else they are out of stock of the same pantsif I come in while she is working. That would be acceptable, except that this store is a smaller store and doesn't have much of a selection and doesn't get a lot of my size. So, I'm just annoyed. MM is no longer my favorite maternity store.

I bought 2 pairs of pants there. The jeans I bought said to wash before wearing, and when they came out of the wash, they were all lumpy and misshapen. Also, I wasn't thinking when I bought them, and the stretchy part is "flesh" color (now a bluish beige), so I can't wear them unless I have a really long top. But the black stretchy pants I bought there have held up through many washes now, and they are my go-to work pants. They are even helpful in helping me continue to hide this pregnancy (21.5 weeks so far! - I'm not a jerk, I'm waiting until my boss finally gives me this raise he agreed to, and now that is all messed up by Sandy, we still don't have power at our office, ech).
I ended up in an H&M that - surprise! - had a maternity section. The pants there looked cheap (the seams were a disaster), but they have really cheap maternity shirts and a good selection of skirts.
If you don't feel like you got a fair shake from the manager, send a note to corporate! Seriously! They clearly have a manufacturing process issue and no, pants should not come apart in the wash.
I had 3 pairs of trousers from a Lane Bryant store here that either the seam pulled apart on the inside of the thigh on day one or the hem pulled out of the bottom. I brought both back and asked for my money back because they clearly weren't standing up to their quality standards. They weren't inexpensive pants either! The manager was kind of a snot to me about it since I'd washed them already (who doesn't wash pants before you wear them?) and I complained to corporate. They apologized profusely and offered me a discount coupon to use on new trousers at a store of my choosing. I don't know if anything in their corporate environment changed at all but at least I got to replace the pants and probably broke even on the gas it took me to drive home and change every time things ripped once they gave me the discount. *grin*

The clothes I bought at H&M are definitely my fav! Too bad their maternity sections are sooo small.

Wow.. I guess they can be hit or miss? I have 2 pair of Motherhood jeans that I have been wearing for the past 3 months at least a couple times each week and washed a bunch of times and they both still look great. No issues with seams, holes, or bleeding.
Now I did notice that their leggings are very thin and pilled up in the crotch after one use. That I don't like but as long as there's no holes then it will work.
I actually don't own any maternity pants...i wear scrubs at work, and wear yoga pants or my leggings the rest of the time. I canqt justify myself spending $36+ on pants that I'm only going to wear four more months. I do have some maternity tops though (they were given to me) that I just started wearing.
Most of my tops are from MM. I don't like their leggings, theyre too thin I think. You can see the panty and camel toe. I know u should wear long shirts but still it would be nice if they made it a little thicker esp now winter's coming.
I agree with complaining to corporate - they'll usually go out of their way to make customers happy where sometimes store managers are wary of giving too much out.
I have a pair of Heidi Klum jeans from MM and I've washed them a few times now with no issues. I just need them to last another 3-4 months and I'll be happy...
You should check out New York & Company for work pants - they have these pull on, thick pants that look just like wool dress pants but they're super stretchy. I'm wearing the large right now and have a few pairs of the XL for my 8th and 9th month. They're also warmer than regular dress pants which is great for winter (if you live in a colder climate). I would say go and try them on though as they come in short, regular and long. I have the L in regular but the XL in short. Good luck!!
I haven't had any problems with the MM pants I have (I actually have a pair of jeans I got very early in my 1st pregnancy and they are *just now* 3 pregnancies later starting to wear out in the crotch and I wear only jeans while pregnant and wore this particular pair probably 5 out of 7 days a week for all my pregnancies). I will say that Motherhood Maternity is notorious for not great customer service and a TERRIBLE return policy. It is really obnoxious but at the same time I sort of understand why they have to be so strict otherwise you could have women buying jeans at the very end of their pregnancy wearing them for a week or two and then try and return them for some bogus reason since they wouldn't need them anymore- not saying that people would do this but I guess I can *kind of* see their perspective as a specialty store.
That being said, I am surprised you even got the manager to agree to exchange them for you- of all the other times I've heard of return/exchange issues with MM the people ended up just SOL even after talking to corporate. I bet you just got a fluke pair of jeans and will have better luck with a new pair.

I'm sorry it's such a pain.
I'm still wearing MM pants from DD and haven't had any problems. Sure, they're not the best quality, but nothing has gotten destroyed.
