Preemies

"I got no strings...

...to hold me down, to make me fret or make me frown!'

Well, we've been home from the hospital for about 7 weeks now (Em came home a week after Sam), and I am back at work.  It's been an adjustment being away from them again, but we love our daycare provider, and they are both doing great!  They're gaining weight, and are happy, healthy babies!

Thanks to all of you who were supportive while we were still in the NICU - it turned out to be 105 days for Emily.  For those of you still in the NICU, take heart - life will be "normal" some day! :)

  • Sorry to hear that your back to work. It will get easier. I know when I get home from work all I want to do is hug my little ones. Thank you for the update.

  • Thanks, jc - the first day (last Wed), and then the first Mon (this week) were brutal, but I'm adjusting.  I've wanted to be a SAHM my whole life, and I'm adjusting to a new dream - one that has me taking care of my girls in a different, but no less important, way!  We need my good benefits etc!

It helps a ton that, like I said, we found a wonderful provider who does it out of her home and is super excited to have them there, understands preemies, and will spoil them rotten! :)

  • That's wonderful!  Doesn't it feel great to have them both home?
  • It feels SO great!  (And still surreal - sometimes when I watch them in their cribs I still can't believe they are here!)
