Rec for obgyn and hospital

I live in mountain house near Tracy. I am a first time mom and I am looking for obgyn recs and hospitals to deliver. I just moved here last year and I don't have any pregnant friends in area. I am willing to travel to bay area .when researching it seems ucsf and John muir are good hospitals with national rankings. I currently have GEHA insurance but plan to change in Janurary. I am 7weeks 2 days pregnant based on last period. So I need to make an appointment like yesterday but I have been stressing out picking an obgyn.

Re: Rec for obgyn and hospital

  • John Muir is an excellent hospital but definitely far from Tracy/Mountain House Area. UCSF is even further! What about looking into the Sutter Network. I dont know anything about them but at least they are local.

  • Hi!  I'm in Mountain House!  I'm the President of the Mtn. House Mother's Club, just FYI.

What kind of birth you're hoping for might dictate where you go.  If you want reduced interventions, I'd recommend avoiding Tracy Sutter and ValleyCare.  If you had to go to ValleyCare, then Scott Eaton is good.  There are a few really good practices at John Muir.  I like the OB-GYN Specialist group (particularly Drs. Senior and Kasper), and have had good experiences with Tim Leach.  Closer to home is San Ramon Regional.  There, I'd go with Dr. Vogel.

  • John Muir is FANTASTIC. My dr is Timothy Leach-he is amazing, helped me through a high risk pregnancy while I ended up on bed rest.

  • Thankyou so much ladies. It gives me comfort having your recommendations. I decided on John muir hospital in walnut creek. And I have made my first appointment with obgyn specialists group. Really ladies Thankyou for taking the time to give me your input . I have no one else to turn to since husband and I are not telling anyone until after the first trimester. What is the mothers group about in mountain house?
  • We have a little bit of everything, activities for moms, kids, families, and dads too.
