update: still stuck

I had my post m/c appointment today. The doctor told me (as I predicted) that she wanted me to wait one full cycle before TTC again. I told her that could be months as my last AF was 5/1/2012, aka, a long time ago!

She said I had two options: start trying now and follow up in 3-5 months if nothing or take drugs to start ovulation (clomid). I really didn't want to go down that road yet. I opted for option 1. We're increasing my Metformin dosage and going to start TTC 1/1 and see what happens.

I really am so thankful for this board becuase three months ago I would have had no idea what I was talking about or what the best option would be for DH and I.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope the medication adjustment works for you! Are you insulin resistant? I'm only curious because I got my diagnosis of PCOS recently and am not evidently IR, but I'd heard of Met for non-IR PCOSers.

I am IR as well. Are you taking Met? She increased me from 500mg XR to 750mg XR.

This is the torture part. My b/w was last week and my RE doesn't have an appointment open till the middle of November! I have to wait about two more weeks to find out what my treatment will be. Bleh!

That is extremely frustrating! I was anxious waiting three weeks for an appointment for her to tell me to wait longer. I hope it goes super speedy for you!

I was put on Metformin before I was diagnosed with IR. My endo said that she wanted to treat the physiological symptoms with the Metformin (which at the time were heavy periods/no periods at all, etc.)

ETA: Good luck to you madasm! I hope the increase in the Metformin works well for you :)

CLEC, I'm sort of going through the same thing. I'm having b/w done tomorrow (fasting glucose) but my ob put me on Metformin 2 weeks ago after we discussed my (what seems to be) PCOS symptoms. She said even if I'm not IR, metformin can help induce/strengthen ovulation. I have the u/s tonight but my results appt isn't until Nov 27.
