Leap Frog

I was thinking of getting DS some sort of Leap Frog product for Christmas. There are a lot of different ones out there. I don't want to spend a lot on it (I've seen some over $100 which is crazy). Does anyone recommend one of them for a 2 1/2 year old?

    This is a good one.  Ds received this last Christmas, and he was 2.5.  It's a great way to learn letters.

    We're getting the Leap pad 2, however ds is always picking up my Kindle Fire and playing his games.  I figure he's ready, and the games and apps can grow with him.

    We are getting DD the leap pad 2 for Christmas, she is almost 27 months and plays with our Ipads all the time, so we feel like it will be a good fit for her. We also like that it can grow with her.

    dd got her leap pad for her birthday and loves it, but I do find that I need to buy the 3-5 year old games, the 4-7, etc are just WAY too hard for her
