Hi Guys....wanted to get your opinion on my DH's SA...
Vol: 3.7ml
Concentration: 59.6M
Count: 220M
Motility: 53%
Morph: 27% (should be over 40% according to my doc, 30% based on this link https://www.resolve.org/diagnosis-management/infertility-diagnosis/the-semen-analysis.html)
She said all numbers were good except morph was low. I was confused about this at first as most SA results I see Morph say anything over 5%. But whoever posted that link today, thanks. It makes more sense. (I think it is Kruger vs WHO?)
So, she said we might have no issue but we could with the sperm penetrating the egg, she thinks the issue is mainly with me (possible PCOS, irregular periods, long cycles, etc) but that we might also benefit from IUI. We are doing a repeat SA in 4 weeks.
I was super excited once I talked to her bc she is going to do all the proper testing (that I know about thanks to all you ladies!) so I go in on CD3 to start all testing and clomid, eeek! I am just medicating, no IUI next cycle. She said we can trigger or not, opinions? I am sure she will tell me more about this.
Any opinions on the SA results? Any info on how to improve morph? Trigger or no?
Happy Halloween sorry that was kinda long.... thanks for reading!
Re: SA Results & Plan...tell me what you know
That morph is fine. My DH's was 6.7% and the RE wasn't concerned with it at all. Overall, YH SA looks great.
As far as trigger, it's up to you if you want that extra push or not. I think it'll help you time things a little better, IMO.
GL!
I don't have any experience in this area, but I wish you the best of luck!! And what is "trigger"? I keep seeing that but no clue as to what it is...

It's a shot that triggers ovulation.
SweetC - isn't the OP's strict Kruger? Mine was WHO.
If yours is listed as WHO and 6.7% morph wasn't flagged, it was probably the 5th edition of the WHO standards used in your analysis, not the 4th edition. Some labs are still using older standards of WHO (Quest used WHO 1992 standards when my husband had his SA last May).

It was the the older standard, yes.
SweetC I was thinking that too since it wasn't like super low and everything else seemed ok.
Thanks everyone for the info!! It's kinda confusing bc there are so many different standards it seems.
Does IUI help with morph issues?

It's just to determine if the morph is always that number. She said sometimes its a really great sample one time and it isn't always like that, so they like to check it twice. We aren't doing any treatment to improve numbers, just validating I guess. From what I read online 3-4 weeks seems normal for this.
