My a/s is scheduled for 2:30 pm on Monday, November 12th! I was so excited while I was scheduling the appointment that I completely forgot that DH will be out of town from November 5th - November 21st.
I'm definitely not gonna reschedule, because I know it is important to have it done by a certain time, and I'll already be 20 weeks on the day of my appointment. So I've decided to have the technician put the sex results in an envelope, so DH and I can figure out together. I just have to have enough self-control to hold on to the results for a week and a half without peeking:)
I was thinking about getting a tiny cake made for just DH, DD, and I. That way I could give the results to the bakery, and not have to be worried about peeking:) Do any of you ladies have any other fun ideas on how we can break the news to ourselves?
Re: Scheduled my a/s, but...
We went to a restaurant and had them make pancakes, with blueberries for boy or strawberries for girl. Just like you, I wanted to just find out as our family, but still make it fun, even if without the hubbub of a whole gender reveal party. And, I wanted to do something original. One of my friends had the paint department mix up pink or blue paint for them for the nursery . . .

Now this is the kind of sex reveal I can get behind.
ETA: (Just the immediate family, not an AW extravaganza)
We couldn't have put off knowing with our first a/s. I took one look at the monitor and could easily see that he was a boy. No technician opinion needed.
The cake and other food ideas sound great.
Such a cute idea! And I loved the pics:)
I love this idea as well:)

Yeah, I'm not a fan of a big party just to reveal the sex of the baby either.
I agree. I'm not sure if I would have the will power to no find out during the u/s otherwise. So it is kinda nice that it is working out this way:)

I was also going to say this. Big gender reveal party? NMS. Private family reveal? Super cute!

Oh this is cute. Generally the gender-reveal hoopla bugs me, but THIS is adorable. You could also buy both and have the shopkeeper gift wrap one and return the other (secretly of course), that would be cute.
I love this idea, but my DH isn't a fan of cake... I know, he's a weirdo:)
