Back from IVF Consult!

Ended up being able to go to RE today and not have to have a phone consult due to weather!  Woo hoo!  Also DH was able to go because schools were closed :)

Will be doing BCP with Lupron, Gonal-F, Ovidrel and Crinone.  Aiming for a 5d transfer.  He is recommending transferring 2 embryos if we have to do a 3d, and leaving it up to us (1 vs 2) if we do a 5d.  Luckily the clinic has switched over to only doing vitrification (in case we have frosties!). RE wants another SA early next week to make the final decision if we will do ICSI based on the morphology.

Wish I could say when this will be, especially since today is CD 1 :(  Unfortunately this is all in the hands of our insurance company.  The financial coordinator said it could go either way and simply depends on who gets our case to review at insurance as well as DH's repeat SA.  They may deny it and make us do another IUI cycle.  RE truly feels that another IUI cycle would be pointless for us.  So, now I start on BCP and wait for a stranger to decide...

I'm glad you both were able to go to the appointment - what a funny storm related surprise.

Good luck with the insurance coverage.  It sounds like the RE has a good plan - hopefully the insurance company will feel the same way.

Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm.  I am 35 and carrying.  Endometriosis and DOR.
    AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish

Thanks!  I just keep reminding myself how lucky we are to have coverage and that the worst that will happen is we will have to do a 3rd IUI and push things back one month.  As anxious as I am to finally become pregnant, in the grand scheme of things, I can wait a month.

Good luck! Our insurance makes you do 3 IUIs before IVF unless the diagnosis is MFI. Is that part of your official diagnosis with the RE? If so, I would think the insurance company would rather pay for IVF than another unsuccessful IUI.

We are officially diagnosed MFI but insurance has funky parameters for the SA.  We qualify for morphology.  DH's motility and count seem to alternate which one is going to be off!

If so, I would think the insurance company would rather pay for IVF than another unsuccessful IUI.So would any sane person.  RE was going to specifically write in his office note today that another IUI would be a "futile waste of money and time".  The problem is that insurance is concerned with the whole, not the individual situation.
