I'm ready to start a new book... Preferably a series. I loved Harry Potter, Hunger Games Twilight. Also loved Mark of the Lion. Anyone have any good recommendations??

Have you read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books? They are much heavier than the series you listed (one of the main themes they address is abuse of women), but they are a good read. Not like "This is fun to read," but "These are well written and engaging."
A fun series I like is the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde (yes, two Fs in his name). They incorporate a lot of characters from well-known books (Jane Eyre, Great Expectations), and go between the real world and the book world - literary characters live in an actual world and exist like real people. Thursday Next (that's her name) is a literary detective and investigates crime in the book world. If you like literature, they're a fun read. I think there are five books so far.
A song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin (its now a series on HBO)
Vampire Acadamy Series and Bloodlines Series (bloodlines follows Vampire Academy and takes place in the same world with some of the same characters and new and different ones as well) by Richelle Mead
Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard
House of Night series by P C Cast and Kristen Cast
James Patterson Books
Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger, and Inheritance (the inheritance series) by Christopher Paolini
The Joe Pickett Series (or any book) by CJ BOX
The Georgia Nicholson Series by Louise Rennison
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Series by JRR Tolkein
Goddess of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing
the wind singer trilogy by William Nicholson
Those are some that i have loved and yes some of them are young adult but i love the story lines and some of the fantasy and mythology of them!!!
Have you read the books by Diana Gabaldon? I think they are either the Highlander out the Outlander series (I can't remember right now). Really great read! Historical fiction with a twist!

I liked Outlander. The second book was tough to get through, but I heard they get good again with 3. It's on my Goodreads so maybe next.
Try Divergent, first in a trilogy, 2nd book Insurgent, 3rd not out. It's an "if you liked HG" kind of book. Dystopian society setting, city is divided into factions. Quick reads and I enjoyed them.
I also really enjoyed Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness. Also a trilogy with the third yet to come out. Plot is too complicated to get into, but it has that witch/vampire element. I thought they were amazing.
You might like Charlaine Harris. She has several series going and is one of my favorite writers. If you watch True Blood on HBO, the show is taken from her Sookie Stackhouse books. I also really liked her Harper Connelly series and the Aurora Teagarden series. There are 13 Sookie books out so it might keep you busy for awhile.

i have to agree with divergent series. They are my favorite books to date! I have read them twice waiting for the third to come out . I also like anything Nicholas Sparks but particularly really like safe house. If you haven't read Lord of Discipline by Pat Conroy that is a fav book of mine from high school that always stuck with me.

I think I like her other series better than her Sookie Stackhouse series!!! Love her though!!!
If you like young adult series (I also loved all the books you mentioned) you might like the Uglies Series by Scott Westerfeld. There is also the I am Four series (3/6 books are out, not as good as other series but entertaining).
For Adult books if you like trashy novels there is the Fifty Shades Trilogy (the writing it terrible but the sex scenes can be pretty steamy). The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy (I struggled with the first book but I could not put down the second and third). There is also The Passage Trilogy (Only 2/3 of the books are out). If you are looking for an easy read there is Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series (I think there are 19 books so far, it like true blood but instead of vampires its about a female bounty hunter).
I hope you find something fun!!!

I love the Sookie books because of Eric but I may have liked the Harper Connely series better. It was just so interesting. I couldn't get into the Lily Shakespeare series at all though. I read all the Aurora books too and really liked them. They are just a nice, quick read.

Not a series book but one of the best books I read this year is Gone Girl. Its a suspense novel but about a couple where the wife disappears. There's nothing nasty or really scary but it is a very good read. You won't be able to guess what's going to happen and it will keep you enthralled.
The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. It is an amazing fantasy series with the best fight scenes I've ever read (I usually gloss over those). Just so you know, it's dark. Part of the story takes part in slums run by crime lords, and Weeks does not gloss over anything. But if Hunger Games didn't bother you, this probably won't either. I highly recommend it!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is good for a quick read if you're into sexy, hot vampires.
