Has anybody had any real ghost experiences?
I am from a small town in SW Virginia that has a really old inn that was there during the Civil War (it was a girl's college and many of the students became nurses during the war). My friends and I went on a tour of the inn one night and we were in one of the rooms that is supposedly haunted. All of a sudden this huge, 10 foot armoire starts to shake violently (I am so not kidding)...needless to say we were out of there in 3 seconds flat.
There is also a blood stain from a wounded soldier on the stairs of the inn that they supposedly can't get rid of, no matter how many times they put down new carpet. We stayed there for our entire wedding weekend and my bridesmaids and I had a few too many drinks the night before the wedding and went out exploring. We found the blood stain but you can only see it if you stand a few stairs up and look down on it. I actually have a picture of it.
Re: Since it is Halloween...anybody have ghost stories?
I'm a nurse and a hospital I use to work for was haunted by a little boy named Timmy. Supposedly in the 60's his parents abandoned him in the hospital when he was sick, and he died alone. Timmy would bounce his ball and you could hear a kid laughing on the empty units.
One night I had a completely oriented patient call me in his room around 1 in the morning. He asked me if the little boy found his parents. He told me a little boy had come in his room and asked if the patient could help him find his parents. When the patient told him he could not, but he would call a nurse in the little boy got angry and threw his water jug across the room. Sure enough, there was a spilled jug in the corner where the patient could not have thrown it. I told the patient I would check on it, cleaned up the water and got out!!
When I was 6 my parents bought a brand new house in a new town. It was about 45 minutes away from our current house so I knew nothing about the town. The first night we moved in I had a horrible nightmare. I dreamed that a ghost was chasing me all over town. The one thing that really stuck in my mind was a 2 story house on a hill that had a circle shaped window on the 2nd floor. The next morning, my dad and I were up before anyone else and we decided to go get donuts. As we were driving through the new town I saw a 2 story house, on a hill with a circle shaped window on the 2nd floor. I had never seen that house beofre in real life. The nightmares continued for about 2 weeks until my Mom was telling one of her coworkers about them. The coworker was deeply religious and told my Mom to put a bible up on the shelf of the closet in my room. She suggested leaving it open to a picture of Jesus. My Mom did that but didn't tell anyone (my dad is an atheist and would have scoffed at her). The nightmares stopped that night.
A few months later I was cleaning my room and found the bible. Closed and at the bottom of my closet. Not open and on the shelf where my Mom left it. No one in the family ever admitted to moving it.

Oh my goodness - every one of these gave me goosebumps, I love it!!
When I was little, I had an older woman, dressed in a white nightgown or dress, walk up and down my bed every night. She would pace back and forth until I fell asleep. I was never scared, it was actually very peaceful. After explaining this to my grandma and what this woman looked like, she thought that it could have been her mom (my great grandmother). My guardian angel.

My Dad died when I was 18 very unexpectedly and not from natural causes! After the Viewing and cremation I cleaned out his house since I was the oldest child and he was never married. I took custody of his Dog whom was a wonderful animal and a joy to have at my home, but I always thought this dog was sensitive to other things people couldnt see!
So it was 2:39 in the morning and all of a sudden there was a very loud shrill noise that woke me abruptly along with the lights that came on out of nowhere! I was terrified and every hair on my body was standing straight up. I looked on the floor next to my bed for the dog and noticed he was in the corner with his his hair standing straight up and his tail wagging! I went to call his name and he ignored me then My Radio that sat on my nightstand not the alarm clock came on to the rock station that My dad always listened too.Seconds later every thing shut off the dog came over and got in his bed and that was that... although my heart was no where near ready to slow down. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever experienced in my life to this day, but there is no doubt in my mind that It was my Dad visiting me! The next day and I know this sounds crazy but you can ask my sister.....I went to close up his room and the rest of the house and there was a little pair of Baby girl sneakers on his floor that were not there the day before......I had my daughter 9 months later in April!
