Well, mass hysteria has spread throughout the land. Not saying some of it isn't warranted, but I think meterologists, newscasters and politicians/mayors are in a damned if you do, damned if you don't predicament.
So far we have seen very heavy, dark clouds since yesterday afternoon. The wind intermittently whips up into some pretty heavy gusts, but overall it's just a normal blustery day. A few scattered sprinkles, but mostly dry.
As my husband didn't feel it necessary to stock up on water or extra food, I hit the grocery store on my way home. Let us keep in mind that I was hungry at the time. We shall now ride out the storm with an ample supply of Lipton Cup o' Noodle (extra noodle), Craft Mac & cheese (Deluxe and regular), brownie mix, Chocolate syrup, cocoa with extra mini marshmallows, molasses cookie mix, spice cake mix (which I intend on mixing with a can of pumpkin - shebang!), fig newtons and Lucky charms.
I also got bread, eggs and milk so that we can eat our fill of french toast. And some water.
So far I rate this storm Zero out of Four possible Horsemen. I'll continue to update, as I know you're all on the edge of your seats.
*My apologies to anyone who has actually been traumatized by a hurricane before. Katrina and Andrew and others were clearly devastating.

I think our worst problems right now are lack of power, which means fridge contents are shot. Most importantly it means no Internet or tv. It makes me twitchy to realize how dependent we are on our electronic devices.
DH and I played a lively game of Monopoly tonight, in which my arse was beaten to a bloody pulp. Internet access on phones is intermittent, and requires charging in the car for a while. I see an early bedtime in our future.
Glad to see everyone else seems to be safe. I have upgraded the storm status to three out of four possible horsemen. Very thankful that we're fortunate, thinking of all those not as fortunate as us, and all the PD/FD/Linemen/Emergency responders that are helping us to recover.
Jenny, hope you all are okay as well!
