update: I think my water just broke...

My water did Not break this morning when they tested my fluid...i was shocked. I know it wasn't pee and it was textbook water breaking..huge gush clear fluid when i stood up this morning. Totally soaked my sweatpants...nurse said it was probably just my mucus plug and it was really watery or something, she was actually a little surprised too.

I wasn't really dilated, so they sent me home, I've been having contractions about every 7.5 to 9 min all day, no worse feeling than bad menstrual cramps...went for a walk, that didn't do anything either. Boo. I hope my contractions pick up, even tho i didn't really want a Halloween baby.

    When my water broke, I went into the hospital and the little litmus strip tests they use to test for amniotic fluid all came back negative. But when they did an AmnioSure test, which is a vaginal swab, it came back positive. So hopefully they didn't get your test wrong! Because they were trying to tell me the same thing about mine being my mucus plug too, and it wasn't.

    The same thing happened to me. I thought my water broke and went to the hospital all test came back negative and they sent me home! I was sure it was my water but the dr. Said it could have been my mucus plug. 4 hours later my water actually did break! GL!

    This exact thing happened to me as well. I suspected my water had broken on a Tuesday, but I only had random gushes. Dr finally sent me to LD Thursday. Litmus test came back negative. They told me they were absolutely certain it wasn't my water and would be discharging me. My Dr requested the AmnioSure to be certain and sure enough, AmbioSure came back positive. My water HAD broken, it WAS AF, and I was put on antibiotics and induced immediately since my water had been broken for three days at that point.

    Well mine was a vaginal swab, so i guess that's good news, so this doesn't happen to me...
