Hey just curious...
I'm 10wks 2days and feel like I'm getting a small baby bump already. It could be bloating but I was really bloated around week 8 and this feels different.
Anyway I've been checking out maternity clothes online and think I will be trying to wait until after 12 weeks to get into maternity clothes. First of all I just want to make it through the first trimester and I haven't told family yet. I've showing up in T-shirts and using a rubberband on my pants a few times anytime I go anywhere.
I'm 5'5" and weigh 130 lbs just don't know if maternity clothes would look huge on me this early or not.
So, who's in maternity clothes already? And where are the best places to go and shop for maternity clothes?
Re: Who's in Maternity Clothes?
I tried to wear my maternity pants on Saturday, because though I can fit in my normal jeans they just get too uncomfortable too fast, but even with the bump I have they kept falling off of me- which was super annoying. I'm still just doing the hairband through the button hole trick- using a looser hairband if need be. I love my maternity pants though and can't wait to wear them lol
I bought from Target and Old Navy online. Everything I got was great!

I bought a pair of J Brand maternity skinny jeans that I am in love with enough to wear before I actually need them (they are the softest pants I've ever owned!) If I'm wearing flats or boots I wear them, and have been for a few weeks. If I'm wearing heels I still put my regular ones on with the hairband trick.
I am definitely not looking like my normal self in my regular clothes, though - quite bloated.
With my last pregnancy, and so far with this one, I have purchased from Destination Maternity. If you sign up for their online mailer you are notified of tons of sales - I stocked up a few items really early because they had a great Labor Day Sale.
Feels. So. Much. Better.
I'm wearing maternity jeans From target.
Maternity jeans do this to me when I'm 40 weeks pregnant. My regular pants don't fit, and I've been in maternity clothes for at least 3 weeks now. A good trick is to wear the maternity jeans with the bella band over them. That way they are more comfortable on your belly but you also don't have to yank them up every 4 seconds.
I'm definitely there. I am 12 1/2 weeks now. I am really petite (wore a 00P before pregnancy!) so my pants stopped buttoning a while ago... and I needed clothes for work that didn't look frumpy. I got some stuff at a Pea in the Pod and Target because they carry petites--- and some casual things from Gap and Old Navy. I find that maternity clothes look MUCH better on me because they are fitted and snug around my belly (which is pretty obvious, this being my third!) than just wearing loose regular clothes.
I've been trying to decide what to splurge on and what to save on... after all, it's only a few months.

I'm wearing stretchy pants to work everyday because I can, and they are so comfortable. I wore the bellaband thing my SIL gave me for the first time this weekend and I loved it. I ordered another one in a different color from amazon. I could wear my jeans without buttoning them and be comfortable in them, it was great.
I totally have a tummy all of a sudden. I have always had a very flat stomach so its really obvious on me and its not comfortable to have anything tight on there.
Thanks ladies:)
It feels good to be able to talk to others since I haven't told family or some friends yet. Sometimes I feel like I don't have anyone to talk to and this being my first baby I have so many questions!
Looks like I will make a trip to a few stores but I'm thinking I can do the hairband trick for a while longer. I need to get a Bella band and see how that works for me too! Just kinda waiting this out, last night I felt bloated but I'm definetly noticing a small bump:)
I gave up on pants at about 6 weeks. I live in sunny FL (where we don't get hurricanes?) and we had an unusual cold spell this week so I panicked. I picked up one pair of jeans at target, but needed something more professional for work. I had a terrible experience at Old Navy- my store was really picked over and all that was left was basically maternity spandex (NOT FLATTERING AT ALL). This adorable Grandma was like "Oh dear that doesn't flatter you at alllllllll." Her adorable southern drawl was all that kept me from a hormonal melt down right there. After I stress ate some Auntie Anne's pretzels, then made my way to baby Gap and fell in love with some maternity pants plus they have a bathroom next to the fitting room. Hello brilliance! I'm wearing Gap Real Skinny jeans now with the demi-band. I have (had?) a small frame to begin with, so I like that these jeans help me look normal since I'm in that more chubby than bumpy stage. With the Target jeans people pointed out that they were maternity right away, these Gap jeans hide it a little better. Hope this info helps the smaller framed moms and people who are trying to keep things under wraps.
P.S. I am under 200 days now and really really happy!!!!!!!
I was against it this early for my first pregnancy - why I don't know... but knowing what I know now, I'd ratehr be comfortable and feel good about myself than not.
I hop at Destination Maternity. They have stuff from Motherhood and A Pea in a Pod. PiaP can be pricey, but I do love the style. Motherhood has a great selection and their jeans aren't overpriced.
I find that tighter fitting maternity shirts are more flattering than loose ones. But that's just my preference. And, with maternity pants that don't have buttons, these shirts lay night and smooth against your belly. Just an all around better look.
If you aren't up for telling people yet, get the maternity pants for comfort and wear baggier shirts and till you "come out".
PS... You MUST try things on. Motherhood shirts run large in my experience. I ordered some things online that I needed to return. Medium was very large. You may need to buy some more stuff later in your pregnancy as you grow elsewhere, but if you get a few key pieces, you will be fine.
