Have we already discussed this?
Will LO be trick or treating this year or just people watching?
Last year o dressed up and walked around the neighborhood but did not trick or treat. I don't think I'll be letting him have a bunch of candy but if he shows interest I might show him how to trick or treat just at 1 or 2 houses.
Thoughts? What are you doing?
Re: Trick or treat?
I haven't really decided. He's actually really scared of going up to new houses - even some of the houses that we go to playgroups at 1-2 times a month. He just gets really shy and freaked out walking up to their doors. So I don't think he would enjoy trick or treating at all this year.
And 6-7pm in our house is just crazy since I'm trying to get both kids down for the night (usually by myself since DH has school). My mom offered to have the boys stay at her house that night and I could just focus on getting the baby to sleep while DS1 helps her pass out candy. But that also just seems like a nightmare since they get a lot of kids in her neighborhood and her dogs (all 4 of them!) go crazy everytime the doorbell rings.
And I don't have a costume for either one of the boys. Mom fail!
That's funny... O is the opposite whenever we take walks he wants to go up to everybody's door. last night we kept telling him "no baby that's not your house we stay on the sidewalk". we were joking about how we are about to change the rules on him. But just for one night!
That's awesome! So fun!
We actually did our TOTing this past weekend. Our town had a big town thing where local business set up booths and passed out candy all along the downtown area street and the local museum (as in a musuem of our town history...boring...) had some activities there. My mom bought him a really small bag, so he got about ten pieces of candy, which I confiscated later. I let him eat a twizzler. He was soooo excited. He put on his costume and shrieked in the mirror for ten minutes and pretended to bark like a dog and pant. When he realized his bag had candy in it, there was more excitement. It was fun and I'm glad I took him. Tomorrow night is a school night, so we'll probably just go to bed as usual.
(panting like a dog)
I plan on taking the boys to our immediate neighbors' houses- 5 total. Basically just to let them see the boys and remember that we do have kids- LOL. Our neighborhood has no sidewalks and the lots are over 1 acre each- so we tend to stay to ourselves. Our neighboorhood is somewhat isolated too (we are between a forest preserve and commercial property in a unincorporated area)- otherwise I am sure that we would have tons of kids- last year I think we had only 50. At our old house we would have 300 plus if the weather was nice. And yes I counted.
We would have been going to my mom's to gtg w/ my sisters & their kids to ToT around my mom's neighborhood, but since Sandy is the grinch that stole Halloween, we won't be doing anything, I think.
Our governor actually said, "Halloween ain't happening tomorrow" =(
Awww! Love that costume, so cute!
Love it!!!
Another boo for sandy! Stealing joy and candy from children!
