How do I get DS out of the habit of nursing to sleep? I still can't put him down awake without him screaming bloody murder. Ugh...I'm so frustrated about this. My dd was a great sleeper and ds is still up a couple times a night to nurse. More so right now since he's getting molars.

    With my DD, I did it gradually by letting her nurse for a while and then taking her off before she was asleep and telling her that the milkies (that is what she called my boobs) were going to sleep now because it's night-night time.  Then I'd cuddle with her until she fell asleep.  If she flipped out I would let her nurse some more, then repeat.  Over time I shortened the nursing time, and she actually surprised me and self-weaned quite suddenly one day and just never asked to nurse again (at all).  She was just past 2 when she weaned.

    DD has never responded well to anything other than gentle, patient nudging for transitions like this...so it took a while, but we did get there.
