TTC After a Loss
Still not real to me...
Hi everyone. I just experienced my first miscarriage (first pregnancy, 9 wks & 2 days). I had decided to wait to tell almost everyone so right now I only have one girlfriend to talk to about it, and I don't really want to bring it up with more people I know so I came here. I thought I was fairly healthy in that department, so it was definitely a shock, and right now my biggest disappointment is that I never got to my first appt or ultrasound because my OB doesn't schedule anything until 12 weeks. I spent 7 hrs in the ER and a collective 15-20 minutes talking to anyone at all. It was busy, but the environment was less than compassionate, and despite some very obvious symptoms there was absolutely no sense of urgency at all about my situation. To top it all off, the doctor that came to tell me that our worst fears were true was about 7 months pregnant! I'm still in shock and considering I never got to see my baby or feel it, it seems like it's all just been a really cruel dream. All I want to do is be pregnant again, and I'm sure I can wait the 2-3 cycles that the doc recommends. Has anyone been able to (safely) conceive quickly after a loss?

So sorry for your loss, but welcome to the board. I think quite a lot of people (who you'll find on PGAL) are able to get pregnant quickly again.
The midwife who confirmed my m/c was also very pregnant...it definitely gives an extra stab to an already-horrible experience. Really seems like they could switch patients with someone else for that 10 minute conversation.
