2nd Trimester

Goodbye belly button ring :-(

I know this really isn't worth being sad over, but H just helped me remove it.? I've had it in for almost 10 years and my stomach looks so funny without it! If I lay down and look at my belly button I can even see right through the piercing hole. I wonder if it will ever go back in!

Re: Goodbye belly button ring :-(

  • I got rid of mine on Sunday... I was 2 lol! I know it's silly but I agree that my belly looks wierd. It just doent's look like my belly anymore!

  • I took mine out about 10 weeks ago... surprisingly i got it to go in yesterday.. I was curious if it would close already.  It might still go in for you after.

  • I took mine off at around 20 weeks too...it was a little sad.  But now I'm over it.
  • I am fighting for mine tooth and nail damnit.  I do not want to have to give it up.  Doc says as long as it's not uncomfortable or getting inflamed than I can leave it in.

I would be really sad too, I've had mine for 10 years and it has a lot of sentimental meaning for me.  Silly, I know.  But I really love it.

  • I had mine in for 7 years and just took it off on Thanksgiving for the first time ever. I don't plan on putting it back in after I have the baby, but I do kind of miss it already. I definitely don't feel like my belly looks the same without it. I'm sure that if you've had it for 10 years you'll be able to put it in again. Good luck!
  • don't they sell belly button rings that are extra long for pregnant women? i'm pretty sure they do.
  • I'm going to get one of those plastic "place keepers" made just for pregnant women. I can't give mine up yet.

My MW mentioned that it can tear and/or become infected while it stretches, so I bit the bullet. :-( I fought for this long, though. They wanted me to take it out a long time ago.
  • I took mine out with my 1st PG at about 21 weeks.  I cried!  I had had it for 10 years too!  I don't miss it now.
  • I feel your pain.  I had mine for almost 7 years -- as long as DH and I have been married -- and it was a very sad day...and for DH too.  It's funny how attached you get to it.  Plus, for me it was like an end of an era or something...but it's all for a good cause...our sweet little babies.

  • i took mine out years ago and there is still a scar where it use to be... at first it looked funny without it, but i think it looks better now.  you'll get use to it, don't worry!

  • I took mine our right around 8 weeks when people mentioned they wished they'd taken them out earlier due to horrible stretch marks they created. ?I had mine in for 7 years and I agree it looks so weird. ?But now that my belly is getting alot bigger, it's starting to heal together and just stretch. ?There is no way I could have left it in.
