AW: Update on house offer

We're official.  After less than a week on the market, we officially sold our house! I'm excited, scared, and nervous.. this is what we wanted, for sure.  I just didn't expect it to happen so soon, ya know?  

So, we are deciding on whether to move in with my parents to save up money to buy some land and build OR renting a duplex still saving money (just not as much) but maintaining our sanity/privacy/etc.  I guess I'm just hung up on where TTC will fall in all of this.  We're still trying this month, but if it doesn't pan out, then we may jump on the TTA train until we begin construction on our new house.  

If any of you ladies have gone down this road or something similar, please share your input and any advice!!

    Well congrats! You are very lucky to be able to sell your house in this market! I'm sure you'll figure something out, maybe renting for a while? Good luck!!!

    Yay! Congrats on selling your house so soon! That is incredible that you sold so quickly in the current housing market (at least where I am, although things are picking up a little). I don't have any advice on the living situation. I guess if it were me I would go with renting a duplex. There's pretty much no way in hell I would move back in with my parents unless it were absolutely necessary. Not because I don't love them, but DH and I need our space and privacy. GL with building your house!!

    Hooray for selling your house! Although I can understand that it would be a little scary as well. That was fast!

    Good luck on your decisions and what your next steps should be. Personally, I would opt for renting the duplex as I could never live with my parents. For me, I'd prefer to pay some extra money than lose my mind. And as far as TTA goes... no advice there. It's a very personal decision. Thinking of you!

    awesome!  Way to be!  I have no advice because DH and I are first time home owners --we've never sold.  But I just wanted to post to say that it is very encouraging to hear that you sold your house so fast!  Congratz!

    Yay! Congrats on selling so quickly! Mine took 5 months and we had 2 houses at the time, and 2 mortgages...not fun at all!  As far as your dilema as to where to move...I guess it depends on how quickly you want to get into the house you build.  I personally would probably rather take a little time to get into the house and have some privacy while doing it, but depending on the cost to rent doing it that way may take a very long time to save enough!  At least you don't have to worry about getting rid of your house anymore!

    That's awesome to sell so quickly! You'd be a stronger woman than me if you chose to move in with your parents over a rental. I love my family, but couldn't live with them again! Good luck with the decision!

    Thanks for all of the input ladies!  You all confirmed the gut feeling I had inside.. which is renting a duplex!! I just didn't want to think that others could easily suck it up and live with parents and I couldn't. I needed some real opinions since DH will just go along with whatever I want to do!
