From low Fluids to October Mama - long story

Update from when i was "bumping from L&D"

I was admitted when my fluids went low at Sundays' read. Plan was to induce... they started this process around 5pm with my 1st dose of oral cytotec....the deal with that one is the goal is to start contractions, dosing me ever 4 hours if the results indicate. after a dose i had to be on monitors for the 1st 2 hours....then could be off for 2 before they dosed again. The contractions came and I'm not gonna lie they hurt.

What also came was more needle pricks to take blood draws...from my wiggly veins... that wouldn't cooperate. ouch. (BTW just got dosed with a pain med so we will see how well this story gets told)Of course during this BF had run around the corner to meet his buddy for a celebratory beer for the Giants Win!

Blood draws and a request for tylenol for my headache led to low platelets and rising liver enzymes (interestingly not related to GD at all)

Those symptoms and some PAINful contractions over the next 7 hours led to a dr recommendation to have a C Section with a spinal.

All that led to the wonderful arrival of Samantha Twain, 5 lbs 9 oz 19.5 inches. Red hair Big Smile and all healthy. They let me have a good 5 minutes with her in OR before BF took her to nursery for newborn care and review while i was closed up. He got to giver her a bath d get her dressed and bring her to me in recovery.

Recovery was almost 4 hours...had to have the spinal wear off. now i am in my room while she sleeps next to me, sent BF to his sisters place around the corner so he could get a good nights sleep... tomorrow the plan is to remove my catheter and get me showered and walking. The nurses here have been amazing.....and Samantha is amazing ... i am one happy momma... i am sure there is more to this story but thats all i have in this pain med fog... ask any questions if you have any and maybe i can answer them...thanks for all the T&P sent my way
