My mom puts brandy in her peach cake. She never worried about giving it to us and I haven't worried about DD having it. Like PP said any little bit that is left it not going to hurt anyone.
I looove baking with alcohol during the holidays (I make a killer eggnog cake baked & then drizzled with rum), but it doesn't actually bake completely out. A typical cake in the oven for 25 minutes is probably going to lose less than half of it's alcohol content. Considering most recipes don't use more than 1/4 cup for the entire cake, it's really a pretty insignificant amount you'd consume per serving.
And now I have cake on my "Must get done this week, or else" radar. Thanks. ;-)
