That completely disgusts me. You would think that after her husband died from not seeking treatment, the mom would have taken her son to a doctor and spared him a slow and painful death.
Personally, I believe in the power of prayer, but am also a firm believer in modern medicine. That's just sad that something as treatable as appendicitis killed their son.
When these people were praying, did they ever for a second consider that God's answer was for them to take their son to a doctor?! I am heartbroken for that poor boy. Dying at the age of 16 needlessly and in pain

I can't agree with the god's answer part, but I do think they should have learned their lesson after his father died from sepsis due to refusing treatment. Both sepsis and appendicitis can be treated. Can you imagine the horrific pain he endured?

This exactly. I'm a firm believer in God and I'm so thankful that doctors and the proper medicine now exists. This is pure ignorance and negligence.

Yep this. I am a Christian and have seen God heal and believe He does. I also believe that He has called doctors and nurses and researchers to take care of us when we need it.
They said "We trust in God for everything. We trusted him to take care of our illnesses and heal us." Well do they trust in God to just put food in their belly's with out cooking a meal or eating it? It's people like this that make Christians look like weirdos. Shame on them for allowing their teen to die from a burst appendix.

I 100% agree with this.

Re: prayer instead of modern medicine
My Blog
As far as I'm concerned, that's child abuse,
I'm not a person of faith, so maybe I don't get it, but I agree with pp who said maybe they should look at medicine as the answer to their prayer.
