I'm 45% into Gone Girl and it's getting REALLY good! Have you read it yet?
Also, I keep telling people this, so sorry if I've already told you. But if you haven't read Life of Pi, you should. The movie looks soo good and I read it right when I heard they were making it and it was a great book! One of my very faves.

For some reason, my mind keeps going back to Life of Pi, so it's funny you mentioned it. I'm too indecisive. I think I will see if there is a free sample on kindle

I'm about 100 pages into Winter of the World by Ken Follett it's the second in the series. The first book, Fall of Giants, was really good too. Same guy who wrote the Pillars of the Earth books.
If you're a Harry Potter fan, JK Rowling has a new one out, The Casual Vacancy. I haven't read it yet but it's on my library request list.

I just finished American Wife and really enjoyed it.
If you have a Kindle, and you like young adult fantasy novels (Twilight genre, though her book is like Twilight at all...) a friend of mine just published a book (but it's not available in paper yet) and it is supposed to be very good. (She was a finalist in Amazon's new authors contest last year.) It's available for $3 on amazon.

I loved Life of Pi! It was so good! I read it in like 3 days on vacation a few years ago. I recommend it to everyone.

I always read the sample first. If you know how to Kindle share, I've got Life of Pi on mine. I've never done it, but I'm willing to try
