A store near us had a 'deal' on diapers but we're not sure it was really worth it and are now questioning our purchase. A box of Huggies diapers for $32. We figured we'll use them so we got a couple of boxes. What brand of diapers work best for your baby and what's a good deal on diapers?
Thanks for your input!
Re: diapers
Eh, I kind of a agree, but not completely. I have stocked up on a lot when I've found good deals. That being said, Walmart will take back any diaper package without a receipt and you can exchange it for the type you want if you stock up on the wrong kind.
But yes, it's probably best not to go crazy and get too many now because exchanging a ton of diapers would be annoying.
Saving a bunch of money for a diaper fund would be a good idea or getting gift cards.
And OP, I don't think you got a wonderful deal, but you could have done worse. I try to pay less than $.15 per diaper. I get most of my diapers on amazon.com with their free shipping and subscribe and save and I get the gift cards through swagbucks. I pay very little for diapers out of pocket.

I would not stock up on just one brand if you decide to stock up. We started with nb huggies and DS would pee out the leg opening (he had really skinny legs) everytime! We were constantly changing his clothes until we got him Pampers which worked much better for us. Once we moved him to 2s, we went to Luvs because they were cheaper, but comparable, in our opinion, to Luvs.
At my shower, everyone brought diapers or wipes in addition to their gift, so we had quite the variety of brands and sizes which was great! Aside from the nb size Pampers, we didn't have to buy any diapers until he was in 2s.

It really just depends on the baby. For DS, Huggies leaked a lot as a newborn. We used Pampers Swaddlers for a while, and I absolutely loved them. Huggies didn't "work" for us until he was several months old. (We also used Huggies Pure and Natural, but I didn't think they were any better for the amount of money spent)
I think it was around a year when we got sick of diaper prices and switched to Luvs. Honestly, they have held up better than any of the other, more expensive brands that I've used on DS.
For LO#2 we are CDing, which has it's own set of "every baby is different" diapers.
Divide the price by the # of diapers and see how much you are paying for each. The cheapest I've found is the Parent's Choice brand, about 15 cents per diaper. Usually, the bigger the box, the cheaper they are! I agree with people that if you stock up, make sure you buy them somewhere with a nice return policy. Walmart will let you return just about anything, but Target isn't as easy to return items. As long as you don't open them in advance, I don't see anything wrong with stocking up. You'll probably use a lot of size 1's.
That seems like a lot of money. Here, at walmart or any other shop, we pay a max of $25 dollars for the big boxes. And i have to agree with everyone else, don't stock up on diapers. For my first we got some at the baby shower, but they were all the smaller packs, and ranging in sizes. Which was great. We got to test and figure out which ones worked best for LO. This time we will be doing the same, get a few little packs to start with, just to test them out. And babies grow so fast anyways that they can be in a different size in no time.
