June 2013 Moms

I wish I could have everyone's ms.

With my two previous pregnancies I didn't have it. It'd be more reassuring then sore boobs. Send me some. Thanks.

Why comment at all if that's how yu feel?  I understand M/S sucks, but some of us are anxiety ridden. Signs and symptoms, no matter how terrible, are reassuring. I get queasy everyday, but it brings a smile to my face because until I see my baby's heartbeat, that's the only way I know my little one is growing.

You can definitely still have a miscarriage and have morning sickness. It's false security that means absolutely nothing. No puppies and rainbows from me.

  • exactly! That is something that someone who never had a loss would say. Must be nice to not feel nervous.

  • I understand totally how you feel. I was gagging this morning and so happy about it. I hang on to these symptoms as my lifeline.  With my first, I was sick the entire pregnancy. Hospitalized 3x for fluids, it was bad. Bring it on, got through it once and the result was awesome! But I get what you're saying, I really do.

Interesting that you somehow know I've never had a loss. Before I got pregnant with DS I had a M/C so maybe assuming isn't the best thing. I'm telling you that you can have m/s and still experience a loss.

  • I had a molar pregnancy with a loss at 11 weeks and had morning sickness the day I was having a DnC. It's not always reassuring.... Server MS was actually a symptom of the molar pregnancy.

I have loads of MS again this time around and it actually makes me more nervous than my normal pregnancy when I had with little to no MS.

I agree. I didn't have m/s with DS and I don't have it with this pregnancy and I don't want it. Like Allie said, you could have m/s and a whole crap load of other symptoms and have a miscarriage.

    Enjoy not having m/s!!

  • I have had no ms with this pregnancy at all.  I was so sick even before I took the test with my last pregnancy, and that one ended in M/C.   Morning sickness does not determine if you are going to have a sticky baby, viable pregnancy or a healthy baby.  I for one and very thankful that I have not been sick, I have been tired and cranky and have sore boobs, that is how I know my pregnancy is going smooth.  As my OB said, just because you have some symptoms with one pregancy does not mean they will be the same for the next one, or will the outcome be the same based upon those said symptoms.  Be thankful that you are feeling great and can enjoy every second of your true blessing.

  • atangiblewish--I would say "you're crazy", but I understand that any 'sign' would bring you comfort. I really do. But I would agree with maybe getting a Doppler?  You are plenty far enough along to enjoy the sound of your babies heartbeat.

I envy you're no m/s, because I have it and it SUCKS! This is my first morning in over 2wks I haven't gotten sick! Fingers crossed for the rest of the day, because this is wonderful.

Having said that it also scares me b/c everytime I feel "good" I end up bleeding :( So pregnancy is a crazy torturous adventure, but it builds your strength.  I wish you the best, but TRY to enjoy the moment and send your little bean some good lovin!

Baby love to us all!! (made me feel like Tiny Tim ;)

  • It will be okay! :)

I have very few m/s - ish symptoms and I admit, it makes me nervous. On the other hand, I just give thanks that I am seeming to have a 'fairly easy' pregnancy, thus far. Perhaps our time is coming, later on in the pregnancy, to be miserable! :)

  • Symptoms don't always mean everything is ok. Try to just relax and enjoy your symptom free days, I know it's easier said than done. My first pregnancy I had NO symptoms in the first tri and I have a healthy 15 month old now:)

  • symptoms dont mean anything. I had zero symptoms with my first pregnancy and miscarried at 11 weeks. I had every symptom on the planet with my third BPF and miscarried at 10 weeks.

He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.

  • Lol wow I didn't expect all that. Of course I know that doesn't mean I won't have a mc. But just like those who did experience it with a loss. Both of my losses I didn't have it. Not expecting puppies and rainbows. I have 2 wonderful puppies and since it rains so much in Florida I see tons of rainbows. Jk. : D

I apologize in advance for any typos on cell.

  • Don't worry!  I didn't have any nausea at all with my first pregnancy.  Some people just luck out that way.  :)

As for the rest of the bullsh!t in this thread, ignore it.  People have an intense need to feel superior that you can't always avoid.  lol.

  • It's a knee jerk reaction to say you want m/s because feeling like you're going to puke every second of the day has never made someone less anxious/crappy feeling.  I get the intent of your wish but seriously, everyone said the same thing - symptoms mean nothing except that you feel like shitt.

  • I was just thinking "I should get on the Bump more, for support from other moms-to-be in my position."  This thread hasn't convinced me.

Remember when you were a first timer, whether you carried to healthy delivery or not? I don't know about you all, but for me, every twinge and gas bubble and slight cramp and NON-queasy day and weird dream both convinces me that I've got a healthy baby growing OR that I've got an impending m/c or an ectopic pregnancy. Until I see that u/s, that will probably continue.

No new mom should be made to feel guilty about her concerns, IMO

  • Honestly I started this post because all the posts my phone loaded to the top were ms ones so I was saying I'd take it. I have a high tolerance of pain and illness and again my mc history. I've been on the bump for years on and off and know what to expect but for people to assume i think it doesn't guarantee another mc is absurd. I do know that you can have a thousand symptoms and mc. In my shoes both mine I disnt really have any. Again the only reason it popped in my head was those posts I saw. :D

  • I get what you are saying OP. Though I've never actually thought that the symptoms would be comfort in knowing everything's ok: I've rather thought "Ok, I'm still pregnant".

I have had little to no symptoms (which I'm not complaining about). But during the day I'll suddenly panic and think "oh man, what If I'm not really pregnant and I'm just super late on my period! I told my family, what would I do if I had to tell them I was mistaken". Then of course I think logically and say: I had 3 positive tests. I have the sore boobs and other small symptoms. Relax Girl! (I can't believe I'm actually admitting this....I'm so stupid at times....)

So don't let people who don't have it so easy get to you. Of course: Try and be respectful for those who do have it really hard, as there are a lot of them out there. Try to be happy with what your body is giving and how it's reacting.
