DH is on storm standby as of 5am this morning. Already out of state. Long story short, he and his groundmen are both qualified for bucket work and have their CDLs to they are more vaulable out of state than in. Which is awesome. Just means he'll be gone longer than others.
I got to the store this morning for some fruit for DD and some stuff for me. Thankfully I had plenty for storm type food (bread, peanut butter, etc.) There was not much on the self.
I have plenty of water, food, candles, etc. I have a theory. I have only ever lost power the few times I didn't prepare much for it. So if I'm prepared, I'll be fine.
Honestly, I'm on a major circuit that supplies power to many, many other smaller ones so I'm usually one of the first back on. Never been out longer than 5-6 hours. The trees were also just trimmed on my circuit so hopefully we'll be fine.
I have a couple hours before it is going to get "bad" here. Going to get some dishes and vacuuming done just in case I actually do lose power for longer this go around.
Stay safe everyone in the storm areas!
