Babies: 9 - 12 Months

refusing night time bottle

My LO has started to refuse his night time bottle. Is anyones baby doing this now? I was surprised that he started to do it this early...... Or was I wrong in thinking he would not be doing it yet???? Is it ok??

  • Girl to me that is a good thing. Is he waking or are you waking him to still give it to him? Mine cut hers out about 5 months or so. Enjoy your sleep! Wink

  • Lucia hasn't taken a nighttime bottle since she was about 5 months old.  She's just not interested in drinking that much right before bed.  How much formula/BM does he get in the day?  If it's a reasonable amount and he's eating solids, I wouldn't worry about it.  It's probably easier to have them stop doing it themselves than to try and force the issue in a couple of months.

  • Oh i totally agree...For about a month maybe hes been taking 4-6 oz bottles. But slowly but surely he is refusing more and more. He has ALWAYS been starving when he wakes up and has ALWAYS taken a full bottle but this morning is the first time ever that he only ate half... He did lay a bit and the took the rest bout 45 min later. Yesterday I think he only took maybe 1.5 bottles total out of four that he has been taking. I just want to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated. He does drink water with each of his solid food meals.
